As a Lab Analyzer Operations Technician Level II, you play a critical role in refurbishing and optimizing clinical laboratory equipment sold by Laboratory Advanced Solutions. Your expertise lies in diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing clinical laboratory instruments used in medical and research laboratories. You ensure that these instruments function at their best, contributing to accurate diagnostic results and scientific advancements.RESPONSIBILITIESEquipment Refurbishment and Repair:o Diagnose and Troubleshoot: Identify issues with clinical lab analyzers, including chemistry analyzers, hematology analyzers, immunoassay systems, and other specialized equipment during the refurbishment process.o Repair and Refurbish: Perform repairs, component replacements, and preventive maintenance on lab instruments. Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.o Calibration and Testing: Calibrate and validate equipment to meet quality standards. Conduct functional tests to verify proper operation.o Documentation: Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, quality control and service history.Quality Assurance:o Quality Control: Implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results from lab analyzers.o Adherence to Regulations: Follow regulatory guidelines (such as CLIA, CAP, and ISO) during refurbishment processes.o Safety Compliance: Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and adherence to safety protocols.Collaboration and Communication:o Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with managers and other technicians to address equipment issues promptly.o Effective Communication: Clearly communicate findings, repair status, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.o Training and Support: Assist junior technicians and provide training as needed.Inventory Management:o Parts Inventory: Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, consumables, and tools required for repairs.o Ordering and Procurement: Coordinate with procurement teams to order replacement parts and supplies.Continuous Learning and Skill Development:o Stay Updated: Keep abreast of technological advancements in clinical lab equipment.o Attend Training: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills.QUALIFICATIONS· Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience in biomedical technology, electronics, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred. · Experience: 2 - 4 years of experience as a clinical lab analyzer technician.CERTIFICATIONS· Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) or equivalent experience is preferred.· Beckman/Coulter and other manufacturer certifications a major plus: Abbott, Hitachi, IL, Olympus, Ortho, Roche, Siemens, Sysmex, and Thermo Scientific.SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES· Attention to Detail: Precise handling of equipment and adherence to procedures.· Strong mechanical aptitude: demonstrated experience using hand tools and power tools.· Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot basic issues.· Communication: Clear communication with team members.· Dedicated focus on excellence: assumes responsibility for craftsmanship.· Adaptability: Willingness to learn and grow in the field.· Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various lab analyzers.PHYSICAL DEMANDS· Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly.· Visual acuity to discern slight differences in objects, shapes, and pictures.· Physical agility for bending, stooping, standing, and stretching.· Normal hearing and vision range for recording, preparing, and communicating appropriate reports.· Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity skills for using hand tools and dismantling basic clinical laboratory instrumentation and system hardware.· This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and adherence to safety guidelines.· Follow safety protocols and guidelines during equipment handling, transportation, and disposal.BENEFITS· Competitive salary based on experience.· Comprehensive health benefits plan.· 401K matching plan.· Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
