We are committed to Building to Last — investing in our people, delivering top-quality projects, and building lasting relationships with our clients and communities.About the RoleThe Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day field operations on large-scale water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone who has field experience, a strong work ethic, and is ready to step into a leadership role while learning directly from experienced superintendents and project teams.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Superintendent in managing and coordinating daily field operations, subcontractors, and craft personnelSupport project scheduling and short-interval planning to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budgetHelp monitor construction activities for compliance with plans, specs, and quality standardsCoordinate inspections, safety walks, and daily reportsEnforce site safety plans and promote a safety-first cultureAssist in the layout, material tracking, and documentation of installed workCommunicate with project managers and engineers to identify and resolve issues on-siteDevelop leadership skills by mentoring laborers and foremen under the Superintendents guidanceQualifications3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, preferably in water/wastewater or underground utility workFamiliarity with interpreting construction drawings, specs, and schedulesStrong organizational and communication skillsWillingness to work in all weather conditions on active construction sitesOSHA 30 certification preferred (or ability to obtain)Valid driver’s license and reliable transportationRequired SkillsBuilding People – Seeks growth opportunities, accepts feedback, and contributes to a positive job site culture.Building Projects – Reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work on schedule.Building Clients – Maintains professionalism and helps uphold ACE’s reputation with owners, inspectors, and partners.Building Community – Embodies ACE’s core values and supports a collaborative team environment.Working ConditionsFull-time, on-site at active construction projectsPhysical role requiring standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and exposure to job site environmentsTravel to project sites as neededWhy Join ACE?At ACE, you’re not just helping build treatment plants—you’re helping build careers, communities, and long-term infrastructure that serves the public.
