** Payroll SpecialistLocation: Arlington, VAPetroplan is recruiting a top caliber Payroll Specialist for a position, based in Arlington, who meets the following criteria.Position **This will be responsible for maintaining efficient and effective processes, processing and reconciling payroll, maintaining employee data, educating leaders and employees on payroll processes, and handling payroll questions. Key ResponsibilitiesProcess all aspects of payroll for assigned pay groups (both domestic and foreign) timely and accuratelyHelp develop best practices and improve efficiency of payroll processes, as needed; leverage system capabilities to drive automationMaintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and proceduresPartner with Human Resources to ensure streamlined end-to-end business processesParticipate in cross functional initiatives and process improvement efforts as neededComply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; ensuring adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actionsCarry out payroll registrations with relevant agencies as neededPerform analytical reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of payroll informationRespond to payroll questions and concerns from employeesGather and report requested data to internal and external recipients as neededSupport the preparation of payroll related information required for annual audits, internal budgets, etc.Reconcile and balance payroll-related accounts; resolve discrepanciesAssist with other tasks and special projects as neededQualificationsAssociates or Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration4-6 years of payroll experience
