The client is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic at the location 2720 SE 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97202. The Maintenance Mechanic must possess the desire and ability to maintain and repair all plant equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic’s role is to ensure the successful maintenance and repair of plant machinery and supporting special projects within the plant. This role is represented by a bargaining agreement, which will require union membership.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience maintaining boilers, air compressors, condensers, glycol systems, cooling towers, and wastewater systemsExperience troubleshooting and repairing electrical motors and controls (VFD experience is a must)Experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systemsExperience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems – Fans, conveyors, gearboxes, etc.Experience troubleshooting fluid process equipment, including pumps, valves, etc.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manualsAble to lift 50 lbs. routinely / frequently and be able to sit, stand, or climb or walk for 12 hrsUnderstanding and experience of preventive maintenance. Experience with CMMS programs preferredDemonstrated ability to plan, organize, and maintain equipment and recordsStrong team/verbal/written skills are required. Demonstrated ability to be a Team PlayerMust be available to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Education, Experience, and **Familiarity with the MS Office suite and applications, ability to utilize electronic communication effectively3-5 years of manufacturing maintenance, millwright, or other closely related experience3+ years of mechanical/electrical maintenance, OR instrumentation certificationExperience ** PLCs, controls, instrumentation, and panel arc flash rating level PPE requirementsFormal education in a related field
