SUMMARY:The Operations Manager for Landscape Construction plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day execution and operational rhythm of RL’s commercial landscape construction projects. This position ensures field efficiency, material readiness, crew enablement, and systems accuracy, serving as the operational backbone between Project Management, Field Supervision, Procurement, and Logistics. Reporting directly to the Director of Landscape Construction & Sr. Project Manager, this leader owns schedule management, PO accuracy, QC check-ins, and the seamless flow of communication and support to drive projects forward.This is a high-accountability, high-impact role for a detail-oriented, systems-minded individual who thrives on structure, field coordination, and continuous improvement.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Project Execution & Daily Operations:Manage day-to-day project schedules in coordination with Project Managers and Field Supervisors, ensuring crews have clear direction and updated work objectives.Monitor job progression across all active projects and move resources or priorities accordingly to maintain pace and alignment with deadlines.Serve as the operational point person to address onsite needs, bottlenecks, and tactical issues in real time.Create Quality Control (QC) visits 30 days after project completion and enter into Aspire or the scheduling platform.Materials & Procurement Coordination:Review and approve project-wide time entries, POs, and material receipts in Aspire or equivalent systems.Request or create POs by Friday of each week to ensure all necessary materials are delivered to jobsites for the following work week.Partner with Procurement and Yard Management to receive materials into the system as they arrive and confirm field readiness.Act as liaison between Logistics, Procurement, and Field Teams to prevent material delays and ensure readiness.System & Process Ownership:Maintain operational accuracy in Aspire—ensuring job costing, labor hours, materials, and scheduling are up to date and reliable.Reduce rework and downtime by increasing efficiency through structured workflows, repeatable systems, and real-time field adjustments.Establish operational playbooks to support scale and consistency across all crews and projects.Field Leadership:Support Field Supervisors and Foremen with daily setup, clarity of expectations, and reinforcement of RL’s standards.Lead and develop field leaders by setting measurable performance metrics for quality, safety, productivity, and accountability.Conduct site visits and field walk-throughs to validate execution, identify gaps, and mentor crews.Serve as a culture and standard bearer of RL’s values, expectations, and professional image in the field.Client Communication:Assist Project Managers with updates and communication where operational issues or support may impact client expectations.Help troubleshoot issues before they escalate, ensuring clients and partners continue to experience RL’s professionalism and reliability.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: FIRST YEAR EXPECTATIONS & ONGOING EXCELLENCEReview and approve time entries across all active projects to ensure accuracy and accountability.Own weekly PO management: create by Friday, receive materials in system as they arrive, and confirm field readiness.Manage daily schedules, shifting tasks and resources as project conditions change to keep crews productive and jobs on track.Coordinate closely with logistics, procurement, and PMs to ensure crews are equipped and able to meet deadlines.Schedule and complete 30-day post-project Quality Control visits to uphold RL’s standards.PRIMARY GOALS:Lead and develop Field Supervisors to meet the Roebuck standard.Improve measurable job quality, efficiency, forecasting, safety, and financial performance.Reduce time-to-complete for standard field and system processes.LEADERSHIP PROFILE: EMBODYING OUR CORE VALUES"To be the best, we are committed to recruiting the best"At Roebuck Landscaping, leadership is rooted in our five Core Values: Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, Determination, and Passion. Be present, be committed, and lead with pride.QUALIFICATIONS:3+ years in landscape, construction, or field operations (project or field coordination strongly preferred).Strong knowledge of landscape, irrigation, and hardscape installation processes.Proficient in construction-related software systems; Aspire experience a major plus.Proven ability to lead field teams, subcontractors, and client relationships.Ability to read construction plans and layout blueprints.Deep knowledge of landscape and hardscape installation techniques.Skilled at daily problem-solving, logistical coordination, and resource planningExperience with Aspire or similar project management/field reporting platforms.Field credibility with strong organizational, systems, and follow-through skillsOSHA 10/30 certification or strong working knowledge of construction safety protocols.Comfortable with jobsite demands, weather exposure, and working with field crews.Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
