Field Service Technician — Power Systems (Tech I-IV)Full-Time | On-Site | Reno, NV | Travel up to 25%SummaryOur client is a trusted leader in electrical testing and maintenance services, dedicated to ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of critical power infrastructure across North America. With a reputation built on deep expertise and long-term partnerships, they support essential industries through every stage of their electrical systems’ lifecycle.Theyre looking for skilled Power Systems Technicians — from entry-level to senior experts — to join our field operations team. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with complex power distribution equipment, contribute to high-impact projects, and grow alongside a supportive and knowledgeable team. For professionals passionate about power systems, problem-solving, and delivering quality service, this role offers rewarding challenges and strong career growth potential.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems (up to 500kV)Perform start-up services, data collection, and diagnostics on electrical switchgear, transformers (45 KVA to 130 MVA), and circuit breakers (480V to 15kV)Test and inspect cable installations and operate advanced electrical testing equipment (including Doble Power Factor sets)Support maintenance and reconditioning of oil-filled, dry-type, and SF6-insulated equipmentTroubleshoot and repair control circuits and transfer schemesAccurately document test results and service reports; maintain records in compliance with industry standardsParticipate in an on-call rotation to respond to customer emergencies promptlyLead or mentor junior technicians (Tech III & IV roles); manage project crews and ensure jobsite safetyConsistently follow all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standardsYou have a solid foundation in electrical power systems and a passion for hands-on work. You’re dependable, safety-focused, and thrive on solving complex technical challenges both independently and as part of a team.
