MECHANIC**This position performs a variety of repairs and maintains packaging and production equipment, machinery such as motors, pneumatic systems, controls, sensors, conveyors, and various types of manufacturing equipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Observes mechanical/electrical devices in operation, trouble shoots and confers with operators to locate and diagnose cause of problem; Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.Interprets machine prints, manuals, mechanical and electrical diagrams.Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements or detect imperfections. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Observes machine in operation to verify repair is complete and effective.Assists in the set-up and operation of new equipment and the movement of equipment within the manufacturing facility. Performs other related duties as directed. All work is to be performed according to quality standards set for the operation.Plan and perform semi-routine and sometimes complex work in an efficient manner. Sets up and safely operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.Maintains Preventative Maintenance (“PM”) schedule and follows procedures.Record-keeping responsibilities may include notations, written reports, repair log documentation. Notifies Parts Crib of inventory levels, signs out parts and tools.Specifies part ordering information for Purchasing Clerk.Follows ISO procedures where applicable.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The demonstration of regular attendance and punctuality is essential.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent; and/or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer to have knowledge of industrial electrical controls.Benefits **Benefits Package per the company plan (eligible upon the 1st of the month following your hire date);Eligible for the company 401(k) plan on day 1 of hire. You will automatically be enrolled into the 401(k) plan at a 3% pre-tax contribution, and this will increase by 1% each year to a maximum of 6% unless you opt out or select a different percent. Associates will be entitled to receive a company match of 100% of each dollar contributed up to the first 6% of salary.
