Job ***** FlexStaff is hiring an experienced Paralegal for our client, a federal credit union on Long Island. In this role, you will provide support to the Legal/Compliance department related to a wide array of day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant. You must have familiarity with state and federal laws and regulations within which financial institutions operate.**• Analyze, research, respond, and otherwise provide support and advice to branch and other department requests related to various operational matters, including, but not limited to, powers of attorney, trusts, special accounts, account disputes, guardianships, etc.• Assist with the organization of and response to litigation involving the credit union and act as liaison to CUSO partners and outside counsel related to various legal matters, including, but not limited to, subpoenas, discovery demands, and other suits and actions commenced against the credit union.• Assist in researching and gathering information related to and otherwise helping to resolve and/or respond to, inquiries of varying complexity, such as reportable events, member complaints, and data privacy issues.• Draft and/or proofread memos, presentations, and other correspondences, as needed.• Provide support related to policies, procedures, and other legal documents as necessary.• Assist in monitoring and providing notification regarding changes in laws or regulations impacting the credit union.• Manage the Legal Department’s Outlook mailbox and legal review requests sent to the SharePoint site.• Provide independent advice and feedback related to department efficiencies and workflow Management.**Associate or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies (preferred), Certificate in paralegal studies (desired).5 or more years of demonstrated experience providing legal support(required), preferably to financial institutions.Ability to commit to a 6-month temporary project.
