Senior Maintenance Technician – Structural Steel & Controls?Federalsburg, MD | Full-Time | Onsite$72,000 - $83,000A well-established, tight-knit structural steel fabrication shop in Federalsburg, MD is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to lead equipment maintenance and controls support across their growing facility. This is an opportunity for an experienced technician with deep knowledge of industrial controls and structural steel equipment.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving in a hands-on environment, thrives on keeping production running smoothly, and brings both technical skill and safety awareness to the table.What You’ll Be DoingTroubleshoot and repair industrial machinery with a focus on controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, sensors, automation)Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systemsRead and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprintsCollaborate with production and engineering teams on upgrades, retrofits, and system improvementsFabricate and modify steel components as needed using MIG, TIG, stick welding, and cutting toolsMaintain detailed records of service history, inventory, and repair logsEnsure compliance with OSHA, plant safety, and quality standardsPlay a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliabilityMust-Have Qualifications5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with a strong focus on control systems and structural steel shop environmentsHands-on expertise with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other industrial PLC and HMI platformsDeep understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsAbility to read complex technical documentation and schematicsSelf-motivated, reliable, and highly attentive to detailComfortable starting early (7am) and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentNice to HaveProficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding, oxy-acetylene cutting, and other fabrication techniquesIndustry certifications (e.g., AWS, OSHA-10/30, electrical or mechanical certifications)Familiarity with Procore, Microsoft Office, or Airtable for maintenance trackingPlease ***** This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
