Payroll Specialist – Contract Assignment***** On-site in Ann Arbor, MI***** 12–16 monthsA dynamic organization in the Ann Arbor area is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a contract opportunity. This role is perfect for detail-oriented professionals passionate about accuracy, compliance, and customer service within payroll operations. Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately process bi-weekly payroll and ensure timely handling of reimbursements, retroactive payments, benefit adjustments, and garnishmentsPerform regular audits of personnel and payroll data, correcting discrepancies and maintaining accurate recordsManage retirement and loan deductions and updates, including 403(b) contributionsEnsure compliance with legal requirements related to garnishments and pension correctionsConduct PTO and goal audits in the payroll system to maintain data integrityCollaborate with external payroll vendors to resolve issues and process requestsProvide reporting and support for internal stakeholders including HR, finance, and department managersOffer guidance on Time and Attendance systems and respond to payroll inquiries with a focus on outstanding serviceQualificationsAssociate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years of payroll experience with mid-size companies; healthcare industry knowledge a strong plusPrior experience in ADP payroll software is requiredStrong Excel experienceExceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities
