Role: Compliance Specialist/ ParalegalLocation: Bellevue, WA (Hybrid)Duration: 5 MonthsPay rate: $50/hr on W2Job description:3 days in Bellevue HQ office; 2 days remote (optional if wanted)Compliance Hotline experience strongly preferred; bonus if its with Convercent (vendor). Paralegal certificate not required; can be an analystYrs of exp required: 3-4 Minimum in ComplianceMin education: BachelorsTypical day:Incident Intake and Review: Monitor the Client Integrity Line and other reporting channels, document newly reported incidents, and perform initial reviewsCase Follow-Up and Coordination: Communicate with internal teams (e.g., HR, labor & employment, investigations) to gather information, ensure timely progress on investigations, and track outcomesDocumentation and Reporting:Update case management software with investigation findings, outcomes, and remediation steps; prepare regular reports/metrics for leadershipResearch and Analysis: Conduct compliance- and ethics-related research; identify trends or risks emerging from reported incidentsGuidance and Advising: Provide compliance and ethics guidance to business partners, addressing policy questions or emerging concernsProject Work:Support special projects as assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer or Compliance management team, such as policy reviews or process improvementsPreferred bg/prior work exp:Legal or Paralegal Training: Formal paralegal certification or legal background, ideally within corporate compliance or ethicsCompliance/Regulatory Experience: Previous work in a compliance or ethics function (internal investigations, risk assessment, or policy development)Industry Knowledge: Telecom industry knowledge can be beneficial, but broader corporate compliance experience may also sufficeCross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with HR, legal, and management teams on sensitive and confidential mattersPriority soft skills:Communication: Strong written and verbal communication to interact professionally with multiple stakeholdersAttention to Detail: Ability to track, review, and accurately document incidents and investigationsIntegrity and Discretion: Commitment to handling confidential and sensitive information with the utmost integrityAnalytical Thinking: Capacity to assess complex cases, spot potential trends, and propose targeted solutionsCollaboration: Willingness to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, building trust and credibility across the organizationThe Paralegal, Enterprise Integrity & Compliance will have responsibility for matters reported into the Client Integrity Line (ethics hotline), as well as other reporting to Client Compliance & Ethics, including documenting intake, gathering information, monitoring, review of findings/investigation outcomes, ensuring timely resolution of reported incidents and reporting case management metrics to management. This position will report to the Manager, Enterprise Integrity & Compliance, and work closely with one or more analysts, other members of the Compliance and Ethics team, labor and employment team, human resources, investigations, and various other business groups across the Client enterprise. This position will ensure that allegations of misconduct are thoroughly investigated, legal and compliance requirements are met, and remedial and mitigating actions are taken as appropriate and business units are informed of any necessary actions required on their part. This position will provide business partners with guidance and advise on a large variety of compliance and ethics matters, as well as analyze reported incidents for potential misconduct trends or other emerging risks to the business. This position will conduct compliance related research and work on projects as may be assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer and other members of the Compliance management team and will make recommendations for compliance related policies and procedures.
