Job Title: Data Analyst                                                                          Department: Business Technology Classification: Exempt / Salary                                                            Reports to: Data Science Manager   Job Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, other STEM field or equivalent work experience. A moderate understanding of relational databases. Working knowledge of statistical analysis. Familiarity with business intelligence tools (Power BI, etc.). Familiarity with code generally used for common reporting applications (MS-SQL, DAX, etc.). Proficient within the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Desire to continue building knowledge within area of responsibility, while embracing new analytical tools and technologies. Willingness to impart experience to coworkers and demonstrate mentorship for junior members of the Data Science and IT teams. Detailed-oriented. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while being able to provide and receive constructive criticism. Ability to work in both individually and within a collaborative settings.   Job Summary: As a Data Analyst at YCH you will be part of our Business Technology team which is responsible for creating a data-driven culture where every employee, grower, and brewer has ubiquitous access to high quality data and analytical tools that contribute towards the continuous improvement and innovation of our processes and products. Our mission is help YCH become the global hop supplier of choice by creating and maintaining data science applications, data analytics tools, and business intelligence dashboards and reports.   Job Duties: Draw insights from data sets through data visualization, mathematical, statistical and other data-driven analysis to address business intelligence (BI) questions Help design KPIs aligned with company strategic goals, support their reporting and tracking by identifying internal and external data sets needed, and create corresponding BI reports. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and recommend business strategies. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders when explaining a data analysis process and the insights drawn from it. Identify data quality issues and work with stakeholders through process improvement activities to resolve them. Work with Data Engineers to build enhancements to data warehouse. Participate in data analytics projects to bring them to successful completion. Assist with maintenance (e.g. support for user needs, review of error logs and submission of issues to vendor’s support desk) and configuration (e.g. via queries, crystal reports, “workflows”, etc.) of corporate ERP. Remain vigilant in the pursuit and presentation of process improvement and enhanced efficiency. Maintain sanitary and safe work environment and follow safety requirements. May actively participate on company’s Safety Committee. Ensure that company safety policies as well as federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations are observed. Must have a complete understanding of company’s policies, SOPs, QPs, EPs, HACCP and cGMP that pertain to their department to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and sustainability. Must adhere to all company policies. Examine documents, materials, and products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy and conformance to standards and specifications. Follow all SOPs in a given area.
