Executive Director

The client, a nonprofit organization dedicated to animal welfare, is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization through a period of growth and transformation. The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors and be responsible for overseeing strategy, fundraising, operations, and organizational culture. Key responsibilities include providing visionary leadership, serving as the primary external face of the organization, and supporting a cohesive leadership team. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of senior leadership experience, a passion for animal welfare, and experience managing organizational budgets over $5M.The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to build upon the strategic direction of the organization and ensure operational excellence across all service areas and departments. They will also be responsible for driving fundraising strategy, overseeing capital development efforts, and representing the organization with integrity and purpose. Qualifications for the role include a bachelors degree, experience managing complex organizations, and strong change management capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative leadership style, a willingness to learn about animal shelter operations, and a commitment to the mission of the organization.The client is deeply embedded in the Houston community and is committed to ending cruelty, abuse, and overpopulation of animals while providing the highest standard of care. The Executive Director will play a crucial role in expanding the organizations visibility, empowering staff, and driving efficiency and collaboration.
