Whether youre just starting your career or already certified, this opportunity offers a dynamic work environment with competitive pay and career growth.Trainee Responsibilities Include:Learn plant operations by observing and assisting experienced staffOperate and adjust pumps, valves, motors, screens, and other mechanical systemsCollect water samples and assist with lab testsEnter operational data into computer systemsPerform facility cleaning and maintenanceDrive and operate heavy equipment when neededOperator Responsibilities Include:Operate and maintain treatment plant equipment including pumps, compressors, filters, and digestersMonitor, test, and adjust chemical processesMaintain records and logs, supervise traineesCollect and analyze wastewater samplesPerform minor repairs and custodial work around the facilityOversee daily functions to ensure compliance and smooth operationsMinimum Qualifications:Trainee:High school diploma or NYS high school equivalencyOperator:High school diploma or NYS equivalency ANDPossession of a Grade 3-A Certificate issued under NYS DEC regulationsBoth Positions Require:A valid NYS Driver’s LicenseA Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) as required for dutiesPay Rate:$29.14/hour— Trainee$33.34/hour— OperatorHow to Apply:Applications are available at the Finance Office.
