This position plays a vital role in supporting payment processing and compliance efforts in a fast-paced, accuracy-driven environment. SHCC has proudly served the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a high-performing Contract Administrator for over 24 years. Through this work, we serve over 80,000 households across Texas and Arkansas, ensuring access to safe and healthy housing in alignment with HUDs mission.What you will do in this position:Voucher Review & Payment Processing:Review monthly Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) vouchers submitted by O/As to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HUD regulations. Identify and resolve discrepancies before processing payments.Tenant Data Reconciliation:Cross-check tenant certification data (such as move-ins, move-outs, income changes) with voucher line items. Investigate any inconsistencies or anomalies and communicate clearly with O/As to resolve issues.Customer Support & Communication:Serve as a primary point of contact for O/As regarding payment and compliance questions. Provide clear, courteous, and professional support by phone and email, often needing to explain technical housing or data requirements.Documentation & File Management:Create and maintain accurate digital and physical records of payment processing actions, correspondence, and resolutions in accordance with HUD and SHCC auditing standards.Data Entry & Workflow Tracking:Enter case information into SHCCs proprietary STARS system to ensure proper tracking, routing, and reporting of tasks. Maintain updated status notes and ensure all workflow steps are completed accurately and timely.Compliance Assurance:Help ensure that all payment and reconciliation processes adhere strictly to HUD policies and SHCCs quality assurance protocols. Escalate noncompliance issues as needed to senior staff.Deadline Management:Manage a consistent monthly workflow tied to strict internal and external deadlines.
