This PRN role supports patient needs on an as‑needed basis and plays a key part in maintaining excellence in safety, clinical care, communication, and overall patient experience. ?? QualificationsRequiredEducation: Graduate of a CoARC‑approved Respiratory Care programLicensure: Active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license; meets all state requirementsCertifications:Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRCPALS required if working in the Emergency RoomPreferredCertification: ACLS (Acute Cardiac Life Support)?️ ResponsibilitiesSafety & Risk ManagementAdministers medications safely and accuratelyFollows all incident reporting and MERS guidelinesMaintains confidentiality and infection control standardsFollows safety practices: fall precautions, restraints, patient ID, and department protocolsRespects patient and visitor propertyComplies with hospital safety rules (fire, tornado, environmental)Ensures adherence to patient rights and regulatory standards? Coordination of Care & CommunicationMay serve as a Preceptor, Clinical Instructor, or Resource personParticipates in committees and quality improvement initiativesProvides care in assigned patient areasCommunicates effectively to support workflow and teamworkParticipates in physician roundsResolves concerns involving patients, families, staff, or equipmentUpdates the care team on changes in patient statusProvides accurate, organized, and confidential shift reportsMakes sound independent decisions and communicates actions appropriately? Primary Clinical ResponsibilitiesPerforms respiratory care procedures within scopeAssists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory interventionsAssesses patient/family needs (physical, psychosocial, spiritual)Documents thoroughly and accuratelyProvides patient education and resourcesUpdates individualized care plans in a timely mannerEnsures accurate patient chargesStays current with literature and best practicesPrioritizes and manages time effectivelyDemonstrates flexibility with department needs?
