As an Oncology Nurse Navigator, you will serve as a vital partner and advocate for patients as they navigate every stage of their cancer journey. This advanced nursing position blends clinical knowledge with personalized guidance—ensuring each patient receives coordinated, seamless, and meaningful support.In this role, you’ll build trusted relationships with patients and families, collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team, and help connect individuals to the resources they need from diagnosis through survivorship. Your leadership will streamline treatment pathways, remove barriers, and empower patients with the education and confidence they need at every step.Be the steady, knowledgeable presence who helps patients feel seen, supported, and never alone.Position Details:Nurse Navigator - OncologyMercy South Sindelar Cancer CenterMonday through Friday, Full TimeKey Responsibilities:Service ExcellenceParticipates in tumor boards, research, and task forces.Supports updates to policies, procedures, and protocols.Direct Patient CareServes as first point of contact for newly diagnosed patients.Provides assessments, referrals, education, and advocacy.Removes barriers to care and supports the physician–patient relationship.Documentation & MetricsDocuments all encounters in Epic.Tracks and analyzes outcomes and productivity data.Care CoordinationManages a large patient caseload efficiently.Screens for genetic testing and clinical trial eligibility.Acts as liaison between patients, providers, and departments.Patient EducationDelivers individualized patient education and updates materials annually.Supports survivorship planning and connects with community resources.Qualifications:Education: Graduate from an approved school of nursingExperience: 2 years related experienceLicensure: RN (Registered nurse) licensed in state of practiceCertification(s): BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days of hire is required.Preferred Qualifications:Education: Bachelor of Science NursingExperience: 3 years in an oncology setting is preferred.Formal patient education and community educational presentationsSupport group facilitationCertification(s): Certification in Oncology Nursing or Chemotherapy/Biotherapy CertificationWhy Mercy?From day one, Mercy offers outstanding benefits - including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition support, and matched retirement plans for team members working 32+ hours per pay period.Join a caring, collaborative team where your voice matters.
