We are searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in our Diagnostic Imaging Unit –someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting and provide nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care. Texas Childrens Radiology Department has earned the gold standard in accreditation from the ACR for our medical imaging expertise. These gold seals of accreditation signify our achievement as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) – the highest achievement for medical imaging facilities. Think you have what it takes ok with part time (Saturday/Sunday: 7a-5pm plus 1 weekday per week: 7a-4pm)knowledge of critical thinking skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration Qualifications Bachelors degree in nursing or bachelors degree in nursing enrolledCurrent licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS certification9 months year of professional nursing experience Expectations preparing patients for imaging procedures like X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, monitoring their vital signs during the procedureadministering medications like sedation if needed, and educating patients about what to expect before and after the testfocus on patient care throughout the imaging process while collaborating with radiologists and imaging technicians Responsibilities Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), culture, spiritual, and environmental needs in an organized and systematic mannerAnalyzes situations, anticipates potential problems, and detects changes in patient statusRe-prioritizes and updates plan of care based on new information and changes to the patients condition; communicates this information and documents in the medical recordParticipates in interdisciplinary rounds and/or patient care conferences and documents in the medical recordAssists patients/family in implementing their role in the plan of care as appropriateAssess patient family learning needs capabilities, preferences, and readiness to learn prior to teachingDemonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers, and other health care team membersAdministers and documents medications and treatments in a timely mannerDemonstrates willingness and ability to acquire new knowledge and utilize new skills needed to improve individual, team, and organizational performanceParticipate in unit performance improvement initiatives /"As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards. /" ABOUT US Texas Childrens Hospital West Campus is Houstons first community hospital designed, built and equipped exclusively for children in one of the citys most rapidly growing communities in the area from Sugar Land to Bryan-College Station, Texas.
