About the CompanyThe company is a leading developer and builder of hyperscale data centers engineered for flexibility, sustainability, and high-performance computing.The organization specializes digital infrastructure, integrating high-voltage power systems, distributed energy resources, and advanced protection schemes to support AI/ML-driven computational loads. This is an opportunity to join a technically elite team shaping the electrical backbone of hyperscale data infrastructure.About the PositionThe Data Center Electrical Engineer (PE or P.Eng) will design and oversee the electrical plant across the full product lifecycle—from concept and detailed engineering through commissioning and operations.This role is heavily focused on High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems design for hyperscale data centers, including switchgear, transformers, distribution systems, and advanced protection and controls.Key Responsibilities:Design and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and specifications for HV and MV systemsPerform and oversee detailed power system studies, including:Load flow analysisShort circuit analysisProtective device coordination studiesArc flash and fault analysisDevelop and maintain detailed electrical system models in ETAP, SKM, or PSSEAnalyze complex operating scenarios, including AI/ML load fluctuations and MV fault conditionsLead protection and coordination studies for grid-connected and islanded (microgrid) modesDesign and implement IEC 61850-based protection systemsSupport distributed energy resource (DER) integration, including BESS and PV systemsCoordinate installation, testing, and commissioning of HV/MV equipmentEnsure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and other applicable codesOwn power system performance issues from conceptual design through site installationThis is a highly technical, individual contributor role within a lean, high-performing, flat organizational structure.RequirementsMaster’s or PhD in Electrical EngineeringPractical, real-world experience (not purely academic or R&D) in mission-critical or data center environmentsExperience designing HV and MV electrical systems for data centersProficiency in ETAP, SKM, or PSSEStrong background in:Short-circuit and fault analysisProtection and coordination studiesArc flash studiesExperience implementing IEC 61850-based protection systemsExperience integrating distributed energy resources (BESS, PV) in microgrid environmentsFamiliarity with IEEE 1547, 2800, 2030.7 standardsDeep knowledge of NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E standardsProfessional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng licensureDirect data center or mission critical experience requiredBenefits$235,000 – $340,000 compensationStrong benefits package (medical, dental, vision)Long-term incentive eligibilityOpportunity to work on cutting-edge hyperscale and AI-driven data center infrastructureHigh-impact technical role within a forward-thinking organization#LI-SK1
