At SynTemp, this machinist plays a key role in producing small to medium-sized components used in instrumentation systems, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality—especially across stainless steels and high-performance alloys. The Work You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills for precision machining Write and edit G-code at the machine Perform simple programming and program adjustments Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications Select tooling, set offsets, and verify workholding Run small-to-medium part production with high attention to detail Perform first-article and in-process inspection Use calipers, bore gauges, and other tools to verify part quality Monitor machine performance and adjust feeds/speeds as needed Perform basic machine maintenance and upkeep Troubleshoot machining and production issues with the team Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Machines, Controls & Software Machines: CNC Lathes and CNC Mills Controls: Fanuc (required), Mitsubishi Meldas (a plus) Programming: G-code editing at the machine CAD/Software: SolidWorks (for print reading and reference) Inspection Tools: Calipers, bore gauges, and standard shop inspection tools Materials You’ll Work With Stainless Steel (304 / 316) Inconel Small to medium-sized precision components What We’re Looking ForRequired: 5+ years of CNC machining experience Strong experience with both CNC lathes and mills Ability to write and modify G-code Experience with Fanuc controls Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings Strong inspection skills using standard measurement tools Solid understanding of setups, tooling, and offsets Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and quality Preferred (Not Required): Experience with gun drilling Experience with Mitsubishi Meldas controls Machine repair or maintenance experience Forklift experience Why Machinists Like Working Here Machinists choose SynTemp because: Stable, specialized work in instrumentation manufacturing Small-to-mid size precision parts (not heavy production grinding) Hands-on role with both programming and machining Clean, organized shop environment Team-oriented culture with problem-solving collaboration Consistent full-time work Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay: Competitive, based on experience Benefits: Health insurance SEP retirement plan Paid time off Schedule: Full-time, day shift (exact hours to be confirmed) Overtime: As needed Additional Notes: Non-smoking facility Background check required Apply Interested machinists can apply directly through hireCNC.
