Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) in Charlotte, NC is seeking a visionary and collaborative physician with a strong clinical and academic foundation to serve as Division Chief, of the Pediatric Critical Care division. Comprised of 11 Pediatric Critical Care physicians and 10 Advanced Practice Providers with strong multidisciplinary collaboration, this position offers a robust academic and clinical foundation with opportunities for program growth, innovation, and leadership development. Position Highlights: Well-established program: 24-bed PICU with the highest PICU admission volume in North Carolina Comprehensive scope of care: ECMO, CRRT, solid organ transplantation, advanced mechanical ventilation High-acuity referral center: Located within a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center Strong multidisciplinary collaboration: 11 Pediatric Critical Care physicians and 10 APPs working within integrated care teams Academic foundation: Embedded in Wake Forest University School of Medicine with clear pathways for teaching, research, and academic advancement The Division Chief / Medical Director Role Responsibilities: Leading and mentoring physicians and advanced practice providers in a high-acuity, high-volume environment Advancing quality, safety, and evidence-based care centered on children and families Promoting a culture of learning, discovery, and continuous improvement, consistent with the Department’s academic mission Supporting faculty success through mentorship, professional development, and academic advancement Collaborating with hospital, enterprise, and university leadership to support program growth and innovation Representing Pediatric Critical Care at the system, academic, regional, and national levels Serving as a visible leader who models integrity, collaboration, stewardship, and respect Ideal Candidate: MD or DO Board certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Minimum of 5 years post‑fellowship preferred Demonstrated leadership experience or strong leadership potential Commitment to academic excellence, education, quality improvement, and team‑based care Ability to inspire, develop, and retain a diverse, high‑performing faculty and APP team Levine Children’s Hospital , a part of Atrium Health, has taken us to another level of service to care for the growing population of children in our region.
