Job DescriptionOur client, a not-for-profit teaching hospital serving an ethnically diverse residential neighborhood of New York City, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join their multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for a cardiologist with expertise in diagnosing and treating complex heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias) using catheter-based techniques and implantable devices.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and manage patients with abnormal heart rhythms. Perform electrophysiology studies (EP studies) to assess electrical signals in the heart. Conduct cardioversion or defibrillation procedures to restore normal heart rhythms. Perform catheter ablation to eliminate abnormal electrical pathways. Implant and manage pacemakers and defibrillators. Utilize rhythm recording and heart imaging techniques, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), Holter monitors, and event monitoring. Conduct transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) as necessary. Utilize advanced imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT) and cardiac MRI. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary cardiology team to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients. Educate patients and families on cardiovascular conditions and treatment options. QualificationsMD or DO degree with board certification in Cardiology and subspecialty training in Electrophysiology. Valid medical license to practice in New York State. Strong technical expertise in electrophysiology procedures and device implantation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse healthcare setting.
