A Certified Peer Support Specialist is someone who has personally experienced struggles with mental health and psychological trauma and has received services through a Community Mental Health Program. They act as a consultant to other team members, helping them understand the persons' served perspectives and subjective experience This position has a high degree of personal integrity, generates positive energy, and makes a difference every day. Participate in the Family/Guardian/Friends Liaison Program activities, building a friendly and open communication network with the natural supports of persons-served. Engage persons-served in problem solving, skill training, side-by-side activities, and monitor their well-being. Document on the progress, or lack of progress, towards goals of persons-served at the close of each shift. Provide supreme customer services, always being courteous, responsive, professional, and helpful to the organization's internal and external customers. Adhere to high level of health and safety practices in physical facilities and with corporate vehicles. Function as a team member and actively participate in team staff meetings. About you... Certification Required Personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude, with capability to deal effectively with people (internal and external). Basic knowledge and skill in simple arithmetic, operating household procedures, basic nutrition, cooking, cleaning, performing routine household tasks and maintenance. Two years of related experience. Certified Peer Support Specialist preferred. Maintain a valid motor vehicle operator license.
