Our client, a leader in the automotive manufacturing, is seeking an Controls and Drives Technician to join their team. As a Controls and Drives Technician, you will be part of the Maintenance Department supporting plant operations and equipment reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive attitude, and a hands-on approach to automation and electrical systems, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Controls and Drives Technician Location: Barnesville, GA Pay Range: $30/hour What's the Job? Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plant production equipment, including DC drives, AC motors, VFDs, PLCs, and operator interfaces. Maintain plant power distribution systems and utility equipment such as HVAC units, air compressors, and regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTOs). Program and troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and variable frequency drives. Perform electrical and mechanical installations for new equipment. Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned to enhance plant efficiency and reliability. What's Needed? High School Diploma or GED required, plus a Technical Degree, Associate's Degree, or Engineering Technology Degree in Industrial Electricity, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, or equivalent training. 1-3 years of experience as an Industrial/Commercial Electrician or Electromechanics/Automation Technician preferred. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams. Strong skills in troubleshooting PLCs, drives, motors, and IT interface systems.
