District Finance Supervisor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Business ResultsPayroll1. Direct oversight of Area payroll staff2. Ensure timely and accurate upload of payroll datao Work collaboratively with Area department managers and NSC payroll team to ensure timely submission of payroll datao Monitor requests and reasons for Off Cycle paychecks to support Area Finance Manager and Director's efforts to reduce payroll errorso Research and resolve department manager and employee payroll questionso Assist Sales and Operations personnel with variable compensation calculations as directed by Area Finance Managero Train and coordinate payroll staff schedules to ensure adequate knowledge of payroll duties are in place at all times. Finance Supervisor is expected to be able to perform payroll duties as necessaryo Assist with employee reimbursements3. Responsible for Kronos System administration including:o Coordinate with Support Office IT staff on changes needed for Area§ Wage rules§ PTO rulesPlanning & Forecasting1. Support Area Finance Manager in the development of the Area's annual budget (AOP) and forecasts:o Perform assigned components of the AOP such as SG&A costso Prepare components of weekly FLASH and monthly BOY as directedFinancial Reporting and Analysis1. Support Area Finance Manager and FSC to create and deliver timely and accurate financial statements:o Prepare journal entrieso Research, track, and resolve accounting issueso Prepare or research various financial items for reporting purposes (i.e. flux, ad hoc reporting, etc) as directed by Area Finance ManagerInternal Controls1. Ensure Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) compliance throughout Area:o Ensure SOx and internal controls within span of control are performed timely and accuratelyo Provide support to the Area Finance Manager for Market and Hub internal control issueso Management of fixed assets recordsLeads Area Finance Team Members1. Direct oversight of Payroll and Accounting Clerks in multi-site environment including:o Interviewing, hiring decisions, promotions, salary increases, disciplinary actions and terminations2. Guide, coach and development of the Payroll and Accounting Clerks3. Coordinate efforts of direct reports to ensure that daily, monthly and quarterly responsibilities are met.Function as back up for Area Finance Manager on limited, as-needed basisComplete ad hoc projects and analysis as requestedSUPERVISIONAccounting ClerksRELATIONSHIPSInternal: Area Finance Manager, Area Finance Director, Audit Services, Buyers, Sales and Operations Staff, Department Managers, FSC and NSC personnelExternal: NoneQUALIFICATIONSEducation/Training: BS in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience required.Related Experience/Requirements: Must possess minimum of five years accounting and/or financial analysis experience or two years in public accounting. Industry experience is preferred. Prior experience supervising an accounting, financial analysis or public accounting staff preferred. Multi-site supervisory experience preferred. Overnight travel may be required to participate in trainings, meetings, or other company events.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOx. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels in the organization. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to prioritize activities in a multi-tasked environment required.Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.  The expected base rate for this role is between $75,000 and $120,000.This role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus.Benefits for this role may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
