Professional engineering license preferred.Travel Required (%): 15-25%Overview:The Region Integrity Engineer in Integrity Quality Assurance (IQA) oversees the integrity management of MPL pipeline systems and facilities through design, construction, and maintenance processes. This position works closely with project leaders within Logistics and Storage Support Services (L3S) to ensure construction standards are followed in the implementation of new projects. This position provides day to day engineering support to Ohio Valley Region and responds to operational needs or emergencies within the region. Additionally, the Region Integrity Engineer will lead development and maintenance of assigned MPL construction standards, examples of which include: Excavation & Backfill, Pipe Flange Connection, and Mud Plugs/Mechanical Isolation Plugs. Process ownership may change and vary based on current workload demands within IQA.Quality SolutionsThe Region Integrity Engineer is expected to become familiar with MPL standards to ensure design and construction is in conformance with internal specifications. This position assures implemented solutions meet MPL integrity standards.Exceptional CollaborationThe Region Integrity Engineer is expected to collaborate with MPL Field Operations, Construction and Maintenance (C&M) crews, Asset Integrity and Reliability Engineering (AIRE) Engineers, and L3S Project Leaders to implement practical and compliant projects. External stakeholders IQA partners with include: design consultants, civil and mechanical pipeline construction contractors, welding contractors, non-destructive examination (NDE) contractors, project/construction inspectors, and industry research consultants.Technical GuidanceThe Region Integrity Engineer is expected to provide technical mentorship to L3S project leaders. Opportunities typically present themselves during design reviews or variance requests. Within IQA the team will listen, research, and respond to all questions with technical justification.**Other offices within Ohio Valley Region may be considered as reporting location.Responsibilities:Responsibilities are listed below; however, specific process and standard responsibilities may change based on current workload and priorities within IQA.Project SupportParticipate in Project Design Reviews to review piping component and system design with project team. Identify cost-saving synergies with L3S as projects are developed. Complete construction verification process, hydrotest review, MOC review, and assist with project closing documentation. Identify solutions to design nonconformities. Lead review of variance requests to consider constructability, risk, and cost Mentor project leaders, specifically during project development to provide guidance on MPL standards. Share lessons learned and sound engineering practices during project development and implementation.Field SupportPerform site visits to provide construction mentorship to L3S project leaders and project inspectors. Provide on-site support for critical construction and/or downtimes. Participate in staff meeting of Region Operations to share risk and understanding of pipeline integrity management. Participate onsite to emergency responses as required. Emergency responses may include Operating Regions outside primary responsibility. Lead onsite MPL Repair Team during emergency responses.Process SupportRepresent Asset Integrity on Stop-Help-Start (SHS) calls during integrity-related events. Provide recommendations for return to safe operations, including repair solutions or monitoring plans. SHS calls may be after typical business hours. Support Field Services and Planning (FSP) through evaluation of third-party line crossing and encroachment requests. Participate in Data Integration Review (DIR) meetings and provide dig/repair recommendations. Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced Integrity Engineers within AIRE.
