Travel OB Tech Company: Fusion Medical StaffingLocation: Facility in Belmont, NYJob DetailsFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled OB Tech for a 13 week travel assignment in Belmont, NY. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:One year of recent experience as an OB TechValid state license/ certification/ or registration in compliance with state regulationsCurrent BLS certification (AHA/ARC)Preferred Qualifications:Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certificationOther certifications and licenses may be required for this positionSummary:OB Techs work under the supervision and delegatory authority of obstetricians and labor and delivery nurses to facilitate safe and effective obstetrical procedures. They ensure that the labor and delivery environment is safe, equipment functions properly, assisting with childbirth and related interventions and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.Essential Work Functions:Prepares and maintains the labor and delivery room ensuring cleanliness, proper equipment setup, and readiness for obstetrical proceduresStocks and organize obstetrical supplies and ensure all related equipment is functional and availableAssists in preparing patients for labor, delivery, and postpartum care within scope of practiceTransports patients to and from the labor and delivery unit as neededAssist obstetricians and nurses during deliveries and obstetrical procedures including C-sections and emergency interventions, by passing instruments, maintaining sterility, and providing necessary supportSupport patient care by collaborating with health team members to ensure seamless workflow and patient safetyEnsures proper cleaning and sterilization of instruments, surfaces, and other supplies and equipment to maintain infection control standardsPerform other duties as assigned within the scope of practiceAdhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Required Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, & communicate in the English language is requiredAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills - To work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Ability to grasp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
