Our work depends on a Ship Integration & Test (SI&T) SPY Radar Technician joining our team to support the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) activities.At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a SI&T SPY Radar Technician supporting PEO IWS, you will be trusted to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that is geographically dispersed to provide engineering planning, design, integration, installation, and test of Aegis Combat Systems (ACS) onboard ships post-construction and during maintenance availabilities. This senior position will be tied to both Program Management and Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the AN/SPY Radar System is operable and available to support testing. Specific responsibilities include:Coordinate with the AN/SPY Radar Systems Engineer for signal processor/antenna matters.Assist in identifying, isolating and repairing processing, array, power and cooling equipment problemsReport to the Combat Systems O&M Manager and ATO/ATM when directedIdentify and resolve AN/SPY Radar System equipment and documentation discrepanciesSubmit AN/SPY Radar System equipment status reportsAssist in the resolution of AN/SPY logistics issuesReview AN/SPY drawings, documents, and test proceduresReport recommendations for improvement or discrepancies noted Ensure AN/SPY Radar equipment is activated, operational and properly configured to support each test eventAssist during test conductAssist shipyard and installation teams with equipment issuesAssist with collection and analysis of AN/SPY Radar performance dataAssist or perform government conducted tests on respective systems in port and at sea Ensure Safe in-port radiation practices are followed Assist crew familiarization and training Assist in Combat System alignment effortsAssess system installation and operation in support of upcoming ship and availability milestonesLead or participate in ship checks to accomplish surveys of the Combat System spaces. Develop Power Point presentations as required. Participate in meetings and phone conferences when required by the government sponsor. Assist in the resolution of Combat System space arrangement issues occurring on the waterfront during equipment installations. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
