The posting may close early due to the volume of applicants.Leads end-to-end internal and external communication strategies for the firm's largest, most complex strategic efforts and reputational needs. An individual in this role is responsible for leading the development of enterprise communications, coaching others to ensure message and communication strategy alignment, partnering with senior firm leaders to develop and execute reactive and proactive communications and cultivating key national and trade media relationships. Also includes supporting financial advisors' local presence, relationships and business development through media engagement support, awards and rankings opportunities, crisis and issues management response strategy and more.10 or more years of communications, PR, journalism or marketing experience7 or more years of experience leading crisis communications and issues management efforts2-7 years of experience leading or coaching othersHigh degree of personal initiative, seasoned judgment, outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to grow the firm's impact, make effective decisions and deliver the right outcomes.Experience translating stakeholder needs into communication strategies and experiencesAbility to make highly complex issues easily understood to key stakeholders including internal audiences, clients, prospective clients and the media.Demonstrated success navigating complex, dynamic environments with changing priorities and deadlines, ability to work in a team-based or matrix environment.Effective at building strong relationships to influence and gain consensus at all levels, including senior level executives.Deep understanding of emerging communications technology and social media platforms, as well as an understanding of the local and national media landscape.Deep understanding of what constitutes news and knowledge of how the media works.PreferredExperience in financial services, other highly regulated industries and change managementAgency experience is a plusEdward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage.
