Austin Road Stockton, California 95215 United States Responsibilities: We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Chassis Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining intermodal chassis to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality work. Key Responsibilities:Inspect, repair, and maintain intermodal chassis, including braking systems, lights, suspensions, landing gear, tires, and structural componentsDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on chassis and related trailer equipmentPerform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and DOT inspectionsWeld, cut, and fabricate parts as necessary to complete repairsComplete accurate repair documentation, work orders, and inspection formsOperate power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment in a safe and efficient mannerEnsure all work complies with DOT regulations, company standards, and safety proceduresCollaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure timely and effective repairsAssist with yard moves or minor container repairs as needed Qualifications: Experience in chassis/trailer repair and maintenanceKnowledge of brake systems, lights, tires, and frameworkBasic welding skills preferred not requiredStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditionsValid driver's licenseWillingness to work in varying weather conditionsMust have basic set of hand toolsMust pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screeningThe Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations.
