Job Description:At Saab in West Lafayette, IN, you have the opportunity to join a team that manufactures the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force. This flagship facility utilizes advanced manufacturing techniques and leverage research and development to support Saab's broad product portfolio. The Saab West Lafayette operation is currently seeking a Commodity Buyer to join our team and help develop a world-class Supply Chain.Responsibilities include: Execute the procurement of material, services, and production supplies including price, availability, delivery schedule (expediting), and final delivery of goodsCoordinate the Return Material Authorization process with suppliers and assist in issuance and resolution of purchase orders and invoicesPrepare, organize, and maintain electronic purchasing records and data documenting performance and complianceDevelop requests for quotes, establish pricing, delivery, terms, and conditionsContinuously develop and improve internal procurement processesContinuously improve the supply chain to secure competitiveness using Industry 4.0 technologies, lean strategies, and implementation of best practicesEnsure best total landed cost through the entire supply chain in support of production in the most cost-efficient wayManage supplier risk and develop mitigation plansBe an ambassador for Saab both with co-workers and with suppliersDevelop working relationships and synergies with strategic sourcing managers within Saab U.S. and SwedenContribute to a people-first culture in alignment to Saab values, demonstrating core Company values: Trust, Drive, Expertise and SupportSupport other projects and tasks as assignedCompensation Range: $63,000-$78,700The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2+ years of work experience required OR minimum 10 years of relevant work experienceMBA, Master's in Supply Chain, or equivalent certification is a plusExperience in the following is preferred: Working with U.S. government contracts (FAR/DFAR regulations) and with new sources of supply and contracts in a Greenfield operationProficiency with ERP systems including data creation and ERP execution as well as manufacturing-based sourcing and supply competenceExperience within the aerospace industry is a plus, but not requiredEffective inter-personal skills to engage and create trust at all levels of the organizationDemonstrates excellent organization skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solvingAbility to be self-driven and deliver high quality results across a global teamCitizenship Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).Drug-Free Workplaces: Saab is a federal government contractor and adheres to policies and programs necessary for sustaining drug-free workplaces.
