If your goals and values align with Honda's, we want you to join our team to Bring the Future!Job PurposeThe Tactical Spend Management (TSM) Unit Lead is responsible for providing leadership to two sourcing teams. The teams are responsible for managing and executing small to medium competitive bid sourcing events (orders under $100K), and sources for both AHM and HDMA companies. The total annual spend exceeds $300M. Through effective unit leadership, and stakeholder alignment, the unit will procure goods and services according to company procurement governance policy, which includes the alignment of expenditures to targeted suppliers and established pricing agreements. Additionally, the leader will regularly engage with the business stakeholder community to develop strategies that streamline sourcing activities, drive cost reduction, and provide opportunities for diverse suppliers to compete. S/he is responsible for leading the TSM procurement specialists and developing associates' skills and capability through regular engagement, mentoring and training. The unit lead will function as the department lead when the department lead is unavailable.Key AccountabilitiesDrive Cost Competitiveness - TSM unit facilitates medium dollar sourcing/bidding - "Quick Hit Sourcing" to reduce company operating expenses (OPEX). The unit lead must ensure team members are trained and have the sourcing skills, knowledge, and capabilities to manage stakeholders - empowering both to make better purchasing decisions by providing the tools and information to improve operational characteristics.Develop and implement strategies that promote alignment to the company direction, including Indirect Strategic Sourcing department's purchasing category direction, targeted suppliers, utilization of existing contracts, and Honda diversity initiatives and business opportunities. Identify opportunities to consolidate goods/services into fewer purchase orders to lower the administrative burden to stakeholders, suppliers, and procurement. Lead initiatives that allow the unit to advance utilization of procurement technology (Ariba, SAP, Microsoft Product Suite, etc.) to execute the procurement function. Engage associates to create and implement characteristic improvements that promote compliance with Honda governance policies while maximizing efficiency within the competitive bidding processes.Develop strong team contributors by taking an active role in associates' long-term career planning & development. Enable associates' sense of purpose by reinforcing how they contribute to the visions and goals of the unit, department, division, and Honda company. Develop future leaders and assist them through the journey.Lead activities to meet the unit's SEQCDM performance targets. Consistently measure and monitor results and implement countermeasures when necessary. Actively engage the team to seek and identify new targets or measurements that will improve team performance and go beyond customer satisfaction.Qualifications, Experience, and SkillsBachelor's degree in Business or closely related field or equivalency in procurement tenure and experience8 years of procurement experience (or in a field where job knowledge and skills are applicable)Previous leadership and development of teams and individualsStrong communication skills, using various channels (oral, written, presentations) to various internal and external audiencesAbility to collaborate with internal and external groups and individuals, effectively manage stakeholders, resolve issues, seek win-win solutions and/or achieving consensusAdvanced problem analysis, problem solving and decision-making capabilitySolid computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.; familiarity with SAP, Ariba or major other erp system(s)Ability to develop and evaluate business cases and complex projectsFamiliarity with Corporate Governance, Corporate Risk and Fair/Ethical Business Practices conceptsWorking ConditionsUp to 25% Travel - ability to travel on short notice for N.A.
