Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) If you are passionate about providing life-saving care to critically ill children, join us as a Respiratory Therapist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). In this role, you will deliver specialized respiratory support tailored to young patients with severe respiratory conditions or injuries. Key Responsibilities: Assess pediatric patients' respiratory conditions and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the PICU team. Administer respiratory therapies such as mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, or aerosol medications as prescribed by physicians. Monitor ventilator settings and adjust them as needed based on patients' responses and clinical conditions. Educate families on respiratory care techniques and equipment use to support recovery after discharge from the PICU. Maintain detailed records of treatments provided and patient progress throughout their PICU stay. Work Environment: The role is based in hospital PICUs where respiratory therapists work closely with critically ill pediatric patients requiring intensive care support. This position demands quick decision-making skills and composure in high-pressure situations while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
