Position Summary: The School Facilities Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining the beauty, safety, and functionality of the Park Maitland School campus. This individual is responsible for coordinating the daily operation, maintenance, and improvement of all facilities, ensuring an optimal learning environment for students, faculty, and the greater school community. Key Responsibilities: Facility Operations and Maintenance: Oversee the daily operation, cleanliness, and maintenance of school buildings, grounds, and equipment. Schedule and coordinate third-party vendors. Schedule and monitor all preventive maintenance and routine repair work. Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure that the campus meets high standards of appearance, safety, and function. Safety, Compliance, and Emergency Preparedness: Ensure all facilities meet or exceed regulatory standards for health, safety, and environmental compliance. Maintain up-to-date records of inspections, licenses, safety drills, and compliance certifications. Serve as a key contact for emergency facility issues and participate in emergency planning and response initiatives. Vendor and Project Management: Solicit bids and manage vendor relationships related to facilities services (e.g., landscaping, HVAC, janitorial services). Manage small-scale renovation and improvement projects, coordinating timelines, budgets, and project outcomes. Oversee facility work orders and prioritize requests to ensure timely resolution. Event and Program Support: Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the setup and logistics for school events, programs, and extracurricular activities. Coordinate facility use requests from internal and external groups, ensuring proper use of school spaces. Sustainability and Stewardship: Identify and recommend initiatives that enhance the environmental sustainability and operational efficiency of campus facilities. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant professional certifications (e.g., Facility Management Professional [FMP], Certified Facility Manager [CFM]) strongly valued. 3+ years of experience in facilities coordination, preferably in a school or educational environment. Knowledge of building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities with flexibility and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software (preferred). Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties as needed. Availability to work evenings or weekends during special events or emergencies, as required.
