The supervisor oversees and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in operating machines that process (screen, sort, separate, and bale) recyclable materials.Major Job ResponsibilitiesObserves sorting, equipment operation, processing, and packaging operations for conformance to the company’s specificationsReview production schedules and confer with the supervisor staff to plan shift operationsAssign duties to workers according to production schedules and demonstrate safe and efficient use of equipmentInspect machinery and equipment to verify conformance to production standards; prepare time, attendance and production reportsRun, schedule, and ensure all metrics are being met dailyDelegate and monitor workers in completion of tasks and schedulesLead process and/or quality teams on improving workflow and qualityPerform other duties as assignedJob Qualifications:Prior experience working in an industrial setting, such as recycling, is highly preferred!At least 3+ years of manager or supervisory experienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Physical ability to perform heavy laborMechanical aptitudeStrong safety valuesAdditional skills and responsibilitiesAbility to work in various weather conditions is expectedAbility to learn quickly, stay motivated, and think outside the boxAbility to work in a team setting and be respectful to other coworkersAbility to sit, stand, and walk at various times throughout the dayAbility to multitask and work under pressureAbility to lead and manage employeesAbility to perform mechanical work.Ability to work at different heightsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
