Assist MD with general patient care.2. Assist patient coordinator with general patient paperwork.3. Patient care in coordination with MD including but not limited to:taking and recording pre-operative and post-operative vital signs.wound care managementsuture hygiene and removaldrain management and removalpatient assessmentpatient instruction/pre-operative/post-operative care.measuring for surgical compression garmentspreparing and assisting with injectables such as Botox and fillerapplication of topical numbing cream when appropriatepreparation for scar injections4. Paperwork:collecting and organizing patient intake paperworkpreparing all needed pre-operative paperwork for surgical chartstracking down all needed pre-operative clearance paperworktracking all surgical supplies such as bras, garments, implants, injectablesprinting/organizing any requests for MD to review before sending to outside offices or patientsreviewing all applicable consent forms prior to any procedure or surgery requiring written consentreviewing all applicable paperwork with patient during their pre-operative visitsmaintain internal credentialing file and keep files up to datemaintain facility credentialing when neededtracking their own work hours, clock-in/out for work, take appropriate meal and rest period5. Work Environment:answering office phones in a courteous mannerpatient relationsintake new patient inquiriesmake new patient/follow-up appointmentsconfirm all patient appointments 48-72 hours prior by phoneanswer basic clinical questionsdefer unknown answers to patient coordinator or MDtake patient before and after photographsorganize/upload photographs into digital files by name and datekeep track of patient schedule in conjunction with other staffassist staff with minor local office procedures, set-up, clean-up, etc.communicate all patient/office related issues to staff in a friendly and timely mannerbasic computer skills-Word, Excel, etc. Medical records system including recording/documenting all patient interactions within EMR systemconfidential/HIPAAanalytical skillsteamworkjudgmentcustomer serviceschedulingproblem solvingoral communicationadaptabilitycomputer skillmathematical skillsinterpersonal skillswritten communicationinfectious controlplanning/organizationqualifications: Medical Assistant Certification, CPR, IV CertificationWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching, requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate apppropriate reports.This job will take place in a small surgical office with other surgeons and staff. Respect for all other staff is required.
