Job Title: EEG Technician Location: Scarsdale, NY Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Department: Neurology / Neurodiagnostics Reports To: Clinical Supervisor / NeurologistJob Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate EEG Technician to join our neurology team in Scarsdale, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electroencephalograms (EEGs) to assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of neurological disorders. This role requires technical skill, patient care experience, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.Key Responsibilities:Prepare patients for EEG procedures, ensuring patient comfort and explaining the testing process clearly.Apply electrodes according to the international 10-20 system.Operate EEG equipment and monitor recordings to ensure quality and accuracy.Recognize and document any abnormal findings or artifacts during the procedure.Collaborate with physicians to provide accurate data for diagnosis.Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for use.Accurately document procedures and patient data in electronic medical records (EMR).Follow safety, infection control, and patient privacy protocols at all times.Assist in other neurodiagnostic procedures, as needed (e.g., evoked potentials, ambulatory EEGs).Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or relevant certification preferred.Completion of an accredited EEG or neurodiagnostic technology program is highly desirable.Registered EEG Technician (R. EEG T.) credential from ABRET preferred, or eligibility to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.Prior experience performing EEGs in a clinical setting strongly preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Proficiency with EEG equipment and EMR systems.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Work Environment:Outpatient clinical office or hospital-based neurodiagnostic lab.May involve sitting or standing for extended periods.Occasional weekend or on-call shifts may be required.Benefits (if applicable):Competitive salary based on experience.Health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and holidays.Continuing education and certification support.
