Occupational Therapist Assistant opportunity to work in an outpatient therapy center focusing on pulmonary rehabilitation. Enjoys working with elderly patients, has a friendly/helpful demeanor, nurturing the success of the patient to live an improved quality of life, improved ADL's and extend their life while reducing healthcare costs and hospital re-admissions.Monday, Wednesday, and Friday -9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. NO WEEKENDS!!Responsibilities:Responsible for the occupational therapy management of patientsCompletes evaluations to ensure quality standards and addresses ill, injured or elderly people. Focus on gaining mobility and increasing their independence for the well-being of patientsWork on goals (ADLs), and a plan of treatmentTeaching of compensatory techniques to permit an individual with a physical impairment or limitation to engage in daily activitiesEvaluating and recording the physical independent abilitiesEncouraging and helping patients create a daily routineHelping patients adjust and understand their disabilityTeaching patients techniques on how to use home exercise and therapy to permit an individual with a physical impairment to perform tasksOrient therapeutic activities to restore sensory integrative functionAssess the individual's vocational potentialQualifications:High school graduate or equivalent requiredCertified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) from an accredited programCPR certificationCurrent BCLS Card (AHA) and maintain.Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and medical knowledge to explain the benefits of specific exercises and treatments to their patientsCritical thinking, complex problem solving, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independentlyWe are committed to nurturing life and promoting an individual’s ability to thrive.
