As we continue to grow, our focus is providing quality patient care by adding to our team of clinical and non-clinical professionals that work together in a collaborative manner.JOB SUMMARYThe Occupational Therapist in this position will be responsible for assisting in preparing patient for treatment and assisting therapists with patient care and routine tasks under direct supervision. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the therapy process by performing clerical functions, maintenance of equipment and supply inventory.The Rehabilitation department’s commitment is to provide quality and service in all interactions with clients, including positive levels of interaction and rapport with facilities and clients. Adheres to all state and federal regulations regarding physical therapy.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitates development and rehabilitation of patients by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.Meets the patient’s goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results and determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.Helps patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities and to apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL).Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to an individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest.Evaluates results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress and recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers.REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GEDBachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Bachelor’s degree with a certificate, or Diploma for successful completion of a post-degree program in Occupational TherapyMaster’s degree in Occupational Therapy (OTR/L or MOTR/L), preferred3+ years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.Bilingual preferredCPR, COVID 19 VacTwo (2) years’ experience in a similar setting required.Ability to read, understand, and communicate fundamental clinical information with various levels of clinical understanding.Experience developing individualized and implementing therapy treatment plans.EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GEDBachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Bachelor’s degree with a certificate, or Diploma for successful completion of a post-degree program in Occupational TherapyState licensureCurrent certification by NBCOT if required by stateMaster’s degree in Occupational Therapy (OTR/L or MOTR/L), preferredCERTIFICATION, LICENSURECPR, COVID 19 VacState licensureCurrent certification by NBCOT if required by stateKNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIESEffective communication skills for working with patients, families and caregivers required.Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.Adaptable, Flexible and able to make quick decisions when plans change.
