The Survey Project Manager II is responsible for managing land surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with client and regulatory requirements. This role requires a North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (NCPLS) license and 5+ years of project management experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to effectively manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and lead projects through the full cycle from proposal to deliveryInteract with customers to understand business requirements and the project team to determine project scope, budget estimates, schedule, and deliverablesEnsure accuracy and delivery of plans and proposalsCoordinate and be available to travel frequently to client locations for onsite kickoff, progress, and deliverable meetingsSetup new projects and develop project work plans and determine resource requirementsCoordinate and organize teams and tasks to ensure projects remain on taskSupervise project team in application design, development, testing and deploymentDetermine Project Scope, Fees, and budgetsMonitor and control project expenses within allotted budgetProvide regular weekly updates to clientsOversee risk management, change control and quality control/assurance activitiesInvoice assigned projects and provide projections to company leadership and Practice Area LeadRespond to customer inquiries professionally and promptlyUpload and download field crew survey data and process through Carlson and/or Civil3D CAD programs for base mappingOversee CAD mapping of survey projects from initial project planning to final deliveries to clients. Occasional CAD mapping of projects from initial planning to final deliveryImplement WithersRavenel standards for survey production, CAD templates and quality control checklists and proceduresProvide mentorship and training for field and office teamsAssist Practice Area Lead in project planning, estimating, scheduling, equipment, and supply inventoriesRequirementsMinimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Geomatics, with a strong foundation in land surveying principles and practices.At least 5+ years of experience in consulting and project leadership, managing survey projects from initiation to completion.North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor (NCPLS) license required.Proven leadership experience, including performance management, team development, and mentorship.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to clients, stakeholders, and team members.Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects independently.In-depth knowledge of land surveying data collection methods and software, including GPS, total stations, LiDAR, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center.Working ConditionsThe assignment may require infrequent evening/weekend work and job site visits outdoors. Candidates should enjoy working in collaborative, fast-paced, and client-driven environment. This is a hybrid position with the expectation to be in the office 4 days per week.Physical RequirementsThe assignment may occasionally require repetitive physical tasks (such as operating a computer), standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, extended periods of viewing computer screens and carrying equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
