InterDent Service Corporation provides comprehensive dental support and administrative services to over 165 dental practices, employing more than 400 dentists across eight states. Additionally, InterDent operates Capitol Dental Care (CDC), a capitated, value-based care program in Oregon. CDC partners with coordinated care organizations to deliver dental services under the Oregon Health Plan, focusing on preventive care and improving both oral and systemic health for children and low-income patients since 1994.Position SummaryThe Vice President of Clinical Operations (VP, Clinical Ops) plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and clinical performance across InterDent’s supported practices. This executive leader oversees the implementation of clinical best practices, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, fosters provider engagement, and partners with operations and support teams to enhance patient outcomes and practice efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a combination of strategic insight, leadership acumen, and a deep understanding of the dental clinical environment.Key Responsibilities:Clinical Leadership & StrategyProvide strategic oversight and direction to clinical teams across all regions and specialties.Lead efforts to standardize and improve clinical protocols, treatment planning, and patient care practices.Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute growth and performance initiatives aligned with organizational goals.Assist in site selection, design, and clinical ramp-up planning for de novos and acquisitions.Operational ManagementCollaborate with regional operations leaders to monitor trends, patient access metrics, and provider productivity.Drive continuous improvement in clinical operations, including scheduling optimization, patient flow, and chair utilization.Ensure alignment between clinical and operational priorities to deliver a seamless patient and provider experience.Regional Clinical Director and Director of Hygiene LeadershipMentor and directly manage a team of Regional Clinical Directors (RCDs) and Director of Hygiene to ensure strong clinical oversight and leadership in the field.Provide coaching and development opportunities for RCDs to strengthen their leadership effectiveness and clinical influence.Collaborate with RCDs and Director of Hygiene to assess clinical needs across regions and implement consistent standards of care and performance expectations.Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including OSHA, HIPAA, and dental board standards.Oversee clinical audits, chart reviews, and risk management initiatives.Guide implementation of clinical technology, EHR systems, and infection control practices.Qualifications:DDS/DMD degree and active dental license (or eligibility for licensure in supported states)Minimum of 10 years of clinical practice experience; 5+ years in a multi-site leadership role within a DSO or healthcare systemProven experience managing clinical teams across diverse geographiesDemonstrated ability to lead, develop, and scale a team of field-based clinical leadersStrong understanding of DSO operations, payer environments (PPO/Medicaid), and practice management systemsAbility to analyze performance metrics and develop actionable strategies for improvementExcellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skillsWillingness to travel up to 30%
