Pride Health is hiring a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to support our client at a medical facility in Orlando, FL. This is a 12-week contract with the possibility of an extension, and it is a great opportunity to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization.Specific Duties:Operates diagnostic equipment (cannot interpret tests), removes staples from superficial wounds, changes wound dressing, obtains cultures, administers non-intravenous medication, performs simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques, collects blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary, and performs EKGs. Performs quality control checks on equipment. Prepares and sterilizes medical equipment using the autoclave.Room patients according to policy and procedures and prepare patients for examinations.Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and promptly.Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards, and policies.Respects patient confidentiality always and treats patients with courtesy and respect.Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms, and sterilizes instruments.Practice standard infection control precautionsTelephone and in-person screening are limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring the exercise of judgment based on clinical knowledgeSupports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO)Must have Skills/Qualifications/Education / Work Experience:Maintain current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.Active CMA/RMA/CCMA certification.Have 2+ years of experience as a medical assistant or related experience in a medical setting.Strong medical Terminology and insurance knowledge.ICD-9/10 and CPT coding experience.Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting.Additional Information:Location: Orlando, FLJob Duration: 12 weeksShifts: Mon–Fri, Day ShiftHourly Pay: - $21 - $23/hourPride Global offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity), 401(k) retirement savings, life and disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts.
