Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Program Manager of Behavioral Health Services for a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering integrated behavioral health and substance use disorder programming. This full-time, direct hire, onsite role is based in Chicago, IL.POSITION OVERVIEW:The Program Manager of Behavioral Health Services is a key leadership role overseeing the daily operations and effectiveness of behavioral health and substance use disorder programs. Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, this position supervises Program Supervisors and supports clinical, administrative, and quality assurance efforts. The Program Manager also plays a strategic role in supporting compliance, growth, and collaboration across teams.PERKS:Competitive salary range of $90,000 – $100,000 annuallyComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance403(b) retirement plan with employer matchPaid time off and mileage reimbursement for work-related travelInclusive, supportive team environment focused on community health impactRESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise Program Supervisors and provide guidance on day-to-day operational and administrative needsEnsure program compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards (CARF, DMH, DHS, etc.)Support integration of mental health and substance use services and maintain clinical quality standardsTrack program census, payer mix, and grant requirements to ensure performance targets are metRepresent the organization with external stakeholders and support strategic planning initiativesMonitor program budgets, approve expenditures, and assist with staff development and evaluationQUALIFICATIONS:Strong knowledge of behavioral health and substance use treatment models and prevention practicesFamiliarity with regulatory frameworks including CARF, DMH 132 & 140, ASAM criteria, and DHS standardsExperience leading clinical teams with a focus on evidence-based models (CBT, MI, SBIRT)Skilled in program operations, quality improvement, and multi-funding oversightCertified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or currently pursuing certification, as well as a Masters Degree in Human Services/Social Sciences or similar fieldCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:This role offers a salary of $90,000 to $100,000, based on experience.
