Role: Transplant SurgeonLocation: Ohio/ North Carolina Job Duration: Full Time Pay: Open for Discussion + Standard BenefitsSpeciality : Abdominal / Cardio-thoracic Positions : 3Role Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced transplant or hepatobiliary surgeon to lead advanced liver donor retrieval efforts as a Principal Abdominal/Cardio thoracic Donor Procurement Surgeon. This is a key national clinical role supporting the OCS Liver program, involving direct surgical procurement, organ assessment, protocol development, and clinical mentoring. You will work alongside a pioneering team of surgeons, transplant centers, and OPOs to optimize organ utilisation and improve transplant outcomes across the U.S.Qualifications:MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institutionMinimum 5+ years’ experience performing deceased abdominal donor organ procurement and/or advanced hepatobiliary or transplant surgery (Preferred)At least 2 years’ experience serving as the primary surgeon for liver recoveryDemonstrated expertise in back-table liver preparation and vascular anastomosisStrong understanding of donation after circulatory death (DCD) and donation after brain death (DBD) proceduresOutstanding interpersonal, leadership, and communication skillsAbility to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environmentsWillingness to travel frequently and work flexible, on-call hoursProficient with clinical documentation tools and MS Office SuitePreferred Qualifications:ASTS fellowship in Transplant Surgery or equivalent advanced surgical trainingExperience working with OCS Liver or other normothermic perfusion systemsDetailed surgical case log demonstrating extensive liver procurement history
