Insight Global is looking for an Oncology Pharmacist for a health system in the Charleston, SC area. This person will be working a M-F schedule and sit in a facility in North Charleston area. Job Summary: The Oncology Pharmacist is responsible for providing specialized pharmaceutical care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy, ensuring safe and effective use of oncology medications, and providing patient education and support. Key Responsibilities:Medication Management: Prepare, dispense, and monitor oncology medications, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care drugs.Patient Care: Conduct medication therapy management, assess patient responses to treatment, and provide counseling on medication use and side effects.Collaboration: Work closely with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.Education: Educate patients and their families about medication regimens, potential side effects, and strategies for managing symptoms.Safety: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous drugs.Research: Participate in clinical trials and research projects to advance oncology pharmacy practice.Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medication histories and treatment outcomes.Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and pharmacy services. Qualifications:Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.Licensure: Active pharmacist license in South Carolina.Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience in oncology pharmacy or completion of an oncology pharmacy residency.Skills: Strong clinical knowledge of oncology medications, excellent communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.Strong work ethic, and team player
