The primary responsibilities of a Harvest Cellar Intern are to support the cellar team by receiving fruit, operating the crush pad, punch down, sanitation, barrel prep, barrel filling, and pressing.This internship will start in August and extend through November. This is an on-site, seasonal position based in Kenwood, CA. Job DescriptionCompletes work assignments and work orders in a safe and timely mannerResponsible for sanitation of cellar area, equipment, and tanksAssists in all cellar operations including racking, transfers, and barrel downsBe a part of the harvesting process including intake, inoculations, chemical additions, and pressingsMonitors temperature of wine tanksCleans, maintains, and organizes barrels as neededAssists with still wine barrel workReplenishes cellar inventory of suppliesSamples tanks as neededQualificationsPrevious cellar experience is a plus, but not requiredFull-time availability (40-50 hours a week) from early August through November or until harvest is completedFlexible and willing to work varying shifts, overtime, and weekendsMust be at least 21 years of age or olderHave a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)Verbal and written English skills preferred, but not requiredMust be able to perform basic math calculations. Good organization with numbers is also critical for accurate record-keepingApply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions, as well as deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsPay Rate: $22.00 per hour (potential overtime hours).
