Job SummaryThe Assistant Director of Programs is responsible for case management services, overseeing daily operations and financial management within a designated geographic area. This role may include supervision of support staff and case managers and acts as a key liaison with both internal teams and external community partners.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRepresent the organization on community/regional committees, workgroups, and collaborative teams.Monitor and review program expenditures to ensure alignment with budget guidelines.Provide daily support and technical assistance to case management supervisors to improve service quality and performance outcomes.Act as Lead Agency case management oversight in the absence of the direct supervisor.Directly supervise case management supervisors.Ensure timely and accurate submission of court documents and manage related court appearances.Maintain internal and external relationships with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment.Demonstrate knowledge of interagency agreements, contracts, and program-specific materials.Build and maintain strong community and professional networks within the service area.Lead and participate in special projects as assigned.Stay informed of trends in the field by engaging in relevant professional organizations.Perform additional related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsEducation:Master’s degree in one of the following fields from an accredited institution:Social WorkCriminologyPsychologySociologyCounselingSpecial EducationEducationHuman/Child/Family DevelopmentMarriage & Family TherapyNursingExperience:Minimum of 4 years in human services, including 3 years of direct experience with children and families.At least 2 years of administrative and supervisory experience.Certifications:State of Illinois Child Welfare Certification required.Other Requirements:Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.Must carry the required auto insurance coverage per OHU policy.Required Skills and CompetenciesAbility to assess and communicate care-related information across all stages of child and family development.Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.Intermediate-level data entry capabilities.Patience, cultural sensitivity, and a positive, team-oriented mindset.Proactive problem-solving and solution-oriented thinking with minimal supervision.Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development skills.Proficient in Microsoft Windows and adaptable to new software tools.High level of discretion and respect for confidentiality.Capability to coach and manage team performance effectively.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentPrimarily a sedentary office role with occasional active office tasks.Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs (e.g., file boxes, supplies).Visual and auditory acuity within normal ranges (corrected if needed).Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.Local travel required during business hours; occasional overnight or out-of-area travel may be necessary.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance
