Job Title: EMS Medical Director (Part-Time)Location: Forsyth County, NCHours: Approx. 8 hours on-site per week + flexible additional availabilityOur direct client is seeking a highly qualified and motivated physician to serve as our EMS Medical Director on a part-time contract basis. This leadership role will guide the medical direction of our EMS system, which includes 911 Communications, EMS Education, Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH), and Behavioral Health initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Oversight & ProtocolsEstablish and annually review EMS treatment protocolsMaintain emergency medical dispatch systemsProvide clinical supervision and performance evaluationDirect post-overdose and behavioral health programsEducation & Quality ManagementGuide EMS training and continuing educationReview patient care in coordination with the quality teamChair quarterly Peer Review Committee meetingsEnsure 24/7 availability for online medical directionLeadership & LiaisonMaintain minimum 8 hours of weekly on-site presenceAttend Emergency Services leadership meetingsLiaise with hospitals, fire services, law enforcement, and public healthAdministrative AuthorityAdvise on clinical equipment and scope of practiceAuthorize restriction, suspension, or revocation of EMS personnel privilegesQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)Current North Carolina medical license (required)Board-certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine (preferred)EMS Fellowship (preferred)Active clinical practiceStrong leadership and communication skillsExperience with EMS oversight, QA/QI, and protocol developmentWork ConditionsPrimarily administrative/consultative part-time roleFlexible remote availability outside on-site hoursOccasional off-hour consultation for emergencies or public healthThis is a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic EMS system in a progressive and collaborative environment.
