All compliance must be met before candidate can start.Requesting 1 Medical Doctor, either a MD or DO with residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine to begin immediately. Work Location: Outpatient Clinic at Rio Grande State CenterWork Schedule: Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. through 5:00p.m. (“Regular Hours??), under the supervision of the RGSC Medical Director or Chief of Medical Services or designee.Provide licensed and credentialed faculty member (“Physician??) to perform the services outlined below.Provide Internal Medicine medical services in accordance with all medically accepted standards of care and any applicable Joint Commission and Center for Medicaid services requirements of care.Patient load: Provide medical care to 8-12 patients per ½ day. This will include new patients, established patients, follow up visits, and triage walk-in patients. Provide onsite direct patient medical services 5 days a week (10, ½ day clinics) during clinic operation days of Monday thru Friday between the hours 8:00am thru 5:00pmProvide onsite direct patient medical services 5 days a week (10, ½ day clinics) during clinic operation days of Monday thru Friday between the hours 8:00am thru 5:00pmDirect patient care services are scheduled as ½ day clinic schedules and assigned to the physician Contractor as the Primary Care Provider (PCP) for continuity of care. The ½ day clinic patient schedule to be covered by the Contractor will be a minimum of five days per week Perform accurate medical histories and conduct physical examinations with appropriate assessment and diagnostic evaluations.Provide direct patient care and delivery of medical care and services to patients with complex medical conditions, and/or behavioral health needs per accepted medical practices. • Provide usual and customary diagnostic, evaluation and assessment of medical conditions, as are appropriate of a professional in the field of internal medicine, to Patients of RGSC. Complete all reports, documentation or electronic record documentation according to the policies and with the timeline established by RGSC.Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies as necessary. Interpret laboratory analysis and radiology results. Participates in the facility’s Quality Improvement Process to include ensuring adherence to regulations set by HHSC, Medicare, Medicaid and The Joint Commission. Obtain accurate medical histories from patients, conduct physical examinations with appropriate assessment and diagnostic evaluations, and administer and provide specialized current evidence-based medical treatments and procedures. Develop, and maintain a disease management plan for each patient. Document by typing in the EMR the examination and treatment plan of clinics patients and submit e-prescriptions. Comply with the RGSC Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and all RGSC or HHSC policies. Physician shall conduct themselves in accordance with the rules of the licensing entity applicable to their profession.Provide individualized medical care based on the policies and guidelines established by the RGSC credential/privileging process.When necessary, may need to provide treatment for minor injuries to state employees who are injured in the course and scope of employment, as requested.Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participate and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery for Continuity of Operations (COP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
