This position requires a self-motivated attorney who is able to manage their own cases and work with other within a litigation team.The ideal candidate will be comfortable in an inclusive workplace that celebrates innovative thinking and values different perspectives. Candidate will utilize the mentorship of a diverse and rapidly expanding team of attorneys and personally prioritize work/life balance.Responsibilities:Research and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memorandums.Receive new cases and provide an evaluation of claims, including a proposed litigation strategy.Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery. This includes the ability to take depositions in preparation for trial and examinations under oath.Ability to litigate pre-trial motions.Prepare for and represent clients through mediation and trial, including jury trials.General file management, including meeting client and court deadlines.Experience:Member of Florida Bar (required)Member of Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts (preferred)5 years of trucking/transportation litigation experience (required)Experience with cargo losses and damage claims for goods in transit (preferred)Experience and knowledge of a full spectrum of litigation issues for clients in the trucking and transportation industry (asset)Prior use and familiarity with Pro Law (asset)License: Licensed to practice law within the State of Florida (required)Benefits:Health Insurance401(k)Flexible SchedulingBonuses
